FEBRUARY 2026 AT MALOBA
Maloba Private Game Reserve
FEBRUARY 2026 AT MALOBA
February brought a change in the air. The mornings and evenings started to cool off, making early drives feel fresh, although the middle of the day was still properly hot. The bush feels full and alive at this time of year, with plenty happening wherever you look.
Wildlife activity has been steady throughout the reserve. Sightings have been rewarding, and time spent out in the field continues to remind us how dynamic and special this season is. From antelope moving through the Kalahari Thornveld to predators making their way across the plains, there is always something to follow.
Kukama joined us with a new group of passionate youngsters wanting to become guides. Their excitement in the field is always refreshing. Long days of tracking, learning bird calls, and understanding animal behaviour have filled the reserve with good energy.

We also had researchers visiting, focusing on some of the more overlooked species. From lizards basking on rocks to smaller creatures often missed on game drives, it was a great reminder that Maloba is rich in life of all sizes, not just the big animals that usually steal the spotlight.
February has been full of activity and learning, another strong month for the reserve.
